The Auditor General is pleased to announce that in October 2018 the Association of Local Government Auditors Opens in new window (ALGA) conducted an external quality assurance review, also known as a peer review, on the Auditor General’s Office for our 2015-2017 audits and investigations.

The review team issued the highest level of compliance available in the ALGA Peer Review Program – the fifth time the office has received this rating.

The rating indicates that the internal quality control system of the Auditor General’s Office was suitably designed and operating effectively to provide reasonable assurance of compliance with Government Auditing Standards.

The peer review team did not have suggestions to enhance the office’s work – they recognized that the office is operating at an extremely high level.

The Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) has more than 1600 members representing over 370 local government audit organizations, with offices ranging in size from just a few auditors to over 80 auditors. Members represent government audit agencies across the US, Canada and abroad.

The 2018 peer review results were presented to the first Audit Committee of 2019, which was on February 22, 2019. The results are available here:
